Library / Antigone

Someone on Twitter suggested I read this while going through Sophocles' Theban Plays.
This was a very good, relatively modern (1942) take on the Antigone tragedy. First performed in Nazi-occupied Paris, it had over 500 showings and was enjoyed by both Germans and French. There are some marked differences to Sophocles' play with Antigone waffling and no Tiresias, but it's always fun to reimagine and consider the internal battles of each character. I highly recommend this after reading Sophocles' version.
