The Book of the Dun Cow

I keep seeing this book pop up as one that people love.

An engaging tale of good and evil set amidst a chicken coop. The rooster, wonderfully named Chauntecleer, must lead the charge to battle against both evil within and from afar. I loved how Walter Wangerin Jr. captured the peculiarities of different animals to weave together a striking story.
