This is part one of three of a series of novels based upon myth and legend from Vikings-era Norway. I have a strong Norwegian heritage, so I try to read at least one Norway-related book a year.

This was an enjoyable book with memorable characters. It showed some of the pleasurable and excruciating decisions people from a variety of walks of life would have had to made to navigate old Norway.
