Why I'm reading this

I've never read through the entire Chronicles of Narnia series. It's time to remedy that. I may read some of these to my daughters as part of the reading project. I remember taking The Silver Chair to 1st grade. Each day, we had time to read books during class and this is the one I brought every day. I don't remember if I made it through the entire book or not, but I do recall looking at the cover each time I brought in the book.

My take

Eustace returns to Narnia, this time with his classmate Jill Pole. Aslan gives Jill four signs that will guide her and Eustance's quest to find Prince Rilian, son of King Caspian X. This book was darker than the others with Prince Rilian under the control of the evil Queen of Underland who turns into a snake. Prince Rilian has been a prisoner for 10 years, but with the help of Eustace, Jill, and Puddleglum the Marsh-wiggle. There's a great line at the end when King Caspian has entered the afterlife and he asks Aslan for something. Aslan replies: You cannot want wrong things anymore.
