Where the Crawdads Sing

I saw this book all over the place in 2019. Then, Joel Tomlin, owner of Landmark Booksellers in Franklin, TN, suggested it to me.

I went into this book knowing there was a twist at the end. I tried anticipating it, even getting frustrated that it appeared to be too obvious. It still completely caught me by surprise. Author Delia Owens showed her extensive knowledge of nature and animal behavior to tie in an enticing story about human nature and behavior. Love, loneliness, abuse, joy, accomplishment, and respect - this book covered a lot.
